After 3 incredible shows, producers have 1 last chance to enter Sound Battle Royale, before we head to the finals on October.  The winner of this show will face off against Fresh Kils, Memorecks and Peter Project, in the ultimate test of live music prodution for a chance at $1500 CASH and prizes.

Sound Battle Royale is a 4-part live beat battle series. Any producer can enter, but only the truly talented can win it. 8 producers compete in 3 challenges for a chance to battle in Critical Beatdown in October. The judges include Tone Mason, Rich Kidd, Arthur McArthur, Big Pops and Neenyo.

HOW DOES THE BATTLE WORK?

CHALLENGE # 1- Flip and Sample
Before the show we ask the audience to vote online for the song that they want to see flipped and sampled. People can pick from 5 songs. We then take the top 2 songs and the SBR team will pick which song will be used in the challenge. Producers can sample any part of that song and have 2 mins to build a beat in front of the audience.

CHALLENGE # 2 -Mass Appeal
This round is for producers who have big egos. Producers take their best beat and are told to incorporate the crowd in that beat. This often means reconstructing the beat in a new way. Some guys have sampled the audience and thrown into a beat, while others have found ways to rock the crowd. The guys with the best beat and the best response from the crowd win.

CHALLENGE #3 Remix
In this round we up the ante. Producers are given 10 mins to create a remix to a mystery acapella that we choose. Producers don’t get the BPM’s and cannot alter the acapella in any way. In the last 3 shows, we’ve chosen songs from Nas, Mob Deep and Dr. Dre.
