Like most Canadians, I have suffered from the ‘step-child’ syndrome at certain points in my life, meaning I have looked to our American neighbours to measure the validity of my own personal and professional success. Which is why the panel “Where Da Ladies At?” organized by Droppin’ Dimez & Tdot Pioneers served as a reminder, that being one of Montreal’s first female emcees (then known as Royal T), I too, can count myself amongst those who have made hip-hop history.
